Recently here in Virginia we got our first snowfall of the season. Most of the east coast was slammed with tons and tons of snow, but the Tidewater area was basically the only part of the state the got a light dusting. Like always, we only got an inch or two, but those huge snowflakes changed the scenery into a white wonderland, and it served as my inspiration for this winter white outfit.
Admiring the snow… from indoors.
I purchased this winter white sweater on a whim after visiting NYC on a girls day trip. While in NYC I witnessed a boldness of original style that was so refreshing. It was fashion that didn’t make sense, but that was also very attractive and appealing. Getting out of this beach area for just a day, and immersing myself into the most creative city in the world, motivated me to hone in on my originality. I questioned if I was dressing for myself, or dressing to fit in with the style that I see day to day. Although this isn’t the most daring of looks, it is fresh to me because of my intention of dressing for my own preference rather than others.
In the dead of winter, my summer tan lines are officially gone, and I am at my absolute palest. I’ve accepted the fact that bronzer is my only hope of looking sun-kissed and therefore I add as much as I can to give myself a bit of color. I kept my eye makeup very minimal, but to add more color to this look, I decided to add a red lip.
Well, that’s it folks… my snow day inspired outfit with a little punch of NYC individuality. Whatever you do, make sure it has your stamp on it and live creatively!
