It’s almost the weekend (PTL). Here’s my weekend attire that I pulled from my minimalist wardrobe. Hope ya’ll are inspired to have a fun, cozy and comfortable winter weekend, while feeling confident in yourself and the way you look!
Errand Running & Church
Weekends for us have a very laid back feel and are usually spent chilling (you guessed it, with Netflix) and running errands. This look is more dressed up so I’d probably wear something similar on a Sunday. Our weekend usually ends with Sundays and going to the 9am service at our local church. Afterwards we usually spend time with friends and family for lunch, take an afternoon nap, and then get our life together for the work week ahead of us.
Jeans: old from Pacsun | similar
For this weekend attire you see me wearing a soft, relaxed-fit white buttoned up collared shirt that I bought from Target. I got it about a year ago because a white shirt is a necessity. It can be dressed up or worn casually depending on the outfit and accessories.
My jeans are from PacSun, who by the way just did a complete rebranding and have introduced some nice new clothing lines. They are a dark mid-rise, super skinny jean that honestly fit quite snug.
The jean jacket was given to me from my parents for Christmas and it is from Old Navy. It’s really soft and surprisingly isn’t too restricting. A jean jacket is definitely a staple in my opinion as well and can be work year round.
This year I caved and bought the re-ocurring Chelsea boot that is literally everywhere. I didn’t buy them at a high price range because I honestly don’t know if they’ll stay since they’ve been around for a while. I strategically bought these cheaper just so I could have the look and not feel buyer’s remorse if they are not in style next year.
The best thing about having a minimalist wardrobe is getting creative with the way you style the outfits. While your clothes may be limited, an outfit can be made new simply by wearing your hair or makeup differently or by introducing accessories.
Tucked & Untucked
I’ve been really into tucking my shirt lately. I think mostly because it makes my body look shorter and my legs look longer. I was going for an effortless, polished look so I left the front of my shirt is tucked while the back is left untucked.
Jean on Jean
Yasssss I love the look of jean on jean and I’m so glad its considered somewhat stylish. I’m such a sucker for a nice jean jacket and usually always have one in my wardrobe. I recently sold my moto jacket on Poshmark because I wanted a more traditional trucker styled jacket instead.
Undone Hair & Natural Makeup
My look was undone mostly due to having 3 day old, dry shampoo filled hair. But can’t we all agree that dirty hair is better than clean hair? Dirty hair stands up better, and when its full of dry shampoo it somehow has great volume.
Side Note: Wondering what the best dry shampoo is (I’ve tried them all)? DOVE, all day every day!
My makeup is the very minimum that I ever do which is tinted moisturizer, setting powder, bronzer, blush, highlighter, eyeshadow liner, filled in brow, and mascara.
Don’t we all just look forward to the weekend? I’m wondering, what’s your go to weekend look?
